Mr. Yao, who was born in 1980, is the current the President of Shanghai Synacast Media Tech.Co.,Ltd. He quitted from Huazhong University of Science and Technology so as to start a business during his study for a Master’s degree in 2004. He set up Shanghai Synacast MediaTech.Co.,Ltd （ www.pptv.com）in April, 2005.
Since 2005, led by Bill the team has invented ALM streaming media technology and core algorithms which is fit for the large-scale networks for video transmission. He also has more than 10 self-developed patents, such as: “Method and Device for Download Based on Point to Point Transfer Protocol”, “Method and Device for Point to Point Transmission Data Partition Download”, “ Method and Device for Accelerating Multimedia Video-On-Demand Service on the Internet”, etc.; He also published “The Challenges of Design and Analysis of Extensive P2P Video-on-demand System” which is taken as monograph of 2008 by SIGCOMM which is known as the the highest level of academic conferences of computer communication network and is widely cited by internationally renowned companies and research institutions (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Tsinghua University, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Microsoft Research Asia).
Since then, Xin Yao has completed company financing several times and has introduced 2500 million dollars of international leading venture capital from Softbank, Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ), etc; Built a core management team for the company, which has taken 4 years to grow into a Internent company with nearly 200 employees and perfect system from a small-scale pioneering group with more than 10 people.Yao keeps on promoting the innovation of business and technology,simultaneously, leaving the company as a leader and No.1 of market share of P2P Network Vedio in China.
