Our History
December 2004: The first version of PPLive was born at HuaZhong University of Science and Technology.
May 2005: Shanghai SynaCast Media Tech. Co.,Ltd was registered.
August 2005: PPLive broadcast live “Super Girl Finals” ,allowing 500,000 netizens to watch online at the same time,setting a record in the industry.
September 2005: PPLive was ranked among Baidu TOP50 Search Keywords,and was included in the TOP10 software and has kept this honor till now.
December 2005: PPLive was named by www.pconline.com.cn as the Most Frequently Used Network Software in 2005,tying for first place with Rising,IE and QQ.
January 2006: PPLive was recognized by IT168 as one of the 10 Most Influential Software Products in 2005. The recognition was based on user experience and adoption of software,and demonstrated the leading position of PPLive in the online video sector.
March 2006: PPLive received the “Internet Commonweal Enterprise Award of Internet Society of China” .
June 2006: PPLive partnered with SMGBB on online live broadcasting technology,to broadcast live major events such as “2006 Germany World Cup” and “My Show” .Simultaneous online watchers exceeded 1 million persons during the World Cup.
September 2006: PPLive had the largest market share in the P2P streaming media market,according to iResearch China P2P Streaming Research Report 2006.
October 2006: PPLive secured a place on the 2006 Zero2IPO-China Venture 50 list.
January 2007: PPLive was recognized by netizens on zol.com.cn as the 2006 Netizen Selected Software,fully demonstrating PPLive users’ loyalty.
January 2007: PPLive won the title of “2006 My Favorite Online Video Live Broadcasting Tool” in IT.com.cn’s “2006 IT Top10”.
January 2007: PPLive received the Top 10 Entrepreneur Team and the Most Promising Enterprise for Investment awards at the ChinaVenture Annual Conference 2007.
March 2007: Through cooperation with PPLive,CCTV. com successfully broadcast live the press conference by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao during the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the National People's Congress,with a traffic number of over 600,000 persons,of which more than 100,000 came from regions out of China.
March 2007: In the China Internet Survey,the largest survey in China on the Internet market,PPLive was named as “China’s Most Leading Internet Enterprise” and the “Most Innovative Enterprise – China Top 50 Internet Brands”.
March 2007: PPLive was named as a 2006 China Internet 100 company.
April 2007: PPLive took a place on FORTUNE magazine's Cool Companies 2007 list.
April 2007: PPLive partnered with Auto Shanghai,to broadcast live the expo for the time on an online media PPLive.
April 2007: PPLive,together with SMG’s subsidiary SMGBB,successfully broadcast the 12th Shanghai International Auto Show live via network. Its new multimedia broadcasting mode gained wide recognition in the industry.
April 2007: PPLive was honored the “2007 iResearch New Economy Award – Potential Enterprise of Development” and “2007 iResearch New Economy Award – Person of the Year” .
May 2007: PPLive formally entered into a strategic cooperation with SMG’s subsidiary SMGBB,creating a broadcasting mode combining live broadcast,recorded broadcast and exclusive broadcast.
May 2007: PPLive broadcast the congratulation party for the 25th Anniversary of China Soong Ching Ling Foundation live. It also launched some films and teleplays concerning Soong Ching Ling and Zhou Enlai,which gained wide recognition.
June 2007: PPLive successfully broadcast the 13th Shanghai Television Festival and the 10th Shanghai International Film Festival live through cooperation with SMGBB.
July 2007: PPLive was honored the “Qingke- Top 50 Venture Capital Firms of the Year 2007” again.
April 2008: PPLive was among the first batch of companies obtaining the “License for Publication of Audio-Visual Programs through Information Network”from the State Administration of Radio,Film and Television.
May 2008: PPLive hit 100 million users worldwide,which further strengthened its flagship position in the online video industry.
May 2008: PPLive cooperated with Phoenix TV in online teleplay 《Y.E.A.H》,creating a new form of synchronous interaction for online teleplays.
August 2008: PPLive broadcast Olympic sporting events live throughout the Games.
September 2008: PPLive was nominated for the 4th Shanghai Outstanding Website.
September 2008: PPLive,together with ifeng.com ,released China’s first online interactive teleplay 《Y.E.A.H》,which hit an all-time high in audience rating.
December 2008: PPLive,as the only online video company nominated among Asia Top 100,was honored the “Most Promising Company Award” by Red Herring.
December 2008: PPLive was honored the “Best IPTV Editor’s Choice Award” in an evaluation activity by PChome’s download center.
December 2008: PPLive was honored the “Best Entertainment Companion Award” by Rise of China’s Software Industry Summit.
December 2008: PPLive was honored the “Most Popular Software Award” in a software evaluation program by skycn.com.
January 2009: PPLive was honored the “Internet User’s Choice Award” in an annual awards program for common software by PConline.
March 2009: PPLive was nominated in the category of “The Second Awords” for ROI Digital Award 2009 with online interactive teleplay 《Y.E.A.H》.
May 2009: The third appearance in the " Qing Dynasties – 2009 the TOP50 Enterprises with Best Investment Value in China”.
July 2009: In the summer selection of 2009 Adword Interactive marketing world, PPLive obtained the “Excellent Sample of China Interactive Marketing” award with the case of “Master Kong natural water”.
August 2009: PPLive obtained the “Advertisers Actual Case Silver” with Create a New Precedent for Media Communications-- Sony Ericsson W595C Interactive New Media Communication Network Drama,Making the Audience into Drama—the Promotion of kappa on Network Drama, Turning TV on cool to See the Sea View-- Network Branding for Skyworth“Cool on”.
August 2009: Xin Yao, the CEO of PPLive, obtained the “Award for China Internet New Marketing Pioneer”, which was aimed at rewarding those who had contributed a lot to the development of China Internet in 2008.
September 2009: PPLive obtained the “Team Innovation Results Award” in the innovation and entrepreneurship Fengyun Bang of “Focus on Zhangjiang”.
September 2009: PPLive Network TV obtained the “Award for Best Marketing Case of Fast Consumer Goods” with the first interactive network teleplay Y.E.A.H from iResearch Consulting Group.
Novermber 2009: PPLive obtained the “Award for China TOP10 Active Brand Perpendicular Websites” in China Internetional Brand Congress.
November 2009: In the annual China Internet Congress, PPLive Network TV received the title of “Honours Partner” from the congress, and got the medal from the committee.
November 2009: After being selected as the TOP 100 of Red Herring Asia, as the only selection of online video company in TOP100, PPLive network television gained the honor of the most investment value of enterprise.
November 2009: In the“2009 China Innovative Marketing Summit”, PPLive became the only selection of network TV new media from more than 30 media outlets, and won“Award for 2009 Brand Marketing Innovative Media”in the 2rd China Marketing Forum.
November 2009: PPLive gained“Award for 2009 China Outstanding Marketing Case”and “Award for 2009 Brand Innovative Marketing Media” with “live interactive marketing network case of ‘Pepsi co-voice’ for PEPSI”.
December 2009: Xin Yao, the founder and president of PPLive, gained both Shanghai Youth.Entrepreneurship Pioneer Award and Innovative Contribution Award.
December 2009: PPLive won “2009 Internet TV Software Products Awards” from celestial pole medium.
January 2010: In the 7th Adworld interactive marketing world “Gold Winning Sales Award”ceremony, PPLive, with Changan Mazda“FHM” theme theater precision marketing case, the first anniversary of 512 Wenchaung Earthquake planning case, was awarded the best prize and public prize. Besides, the live boardcast of “Pepci-Voice”, a cross-media integrated marketing case, for Pepci also won the Grand Prix.
January 2010: In 2009, on the Value Annual Meeting of China Enterprise Spokesman and Media ,PPLive won “China Enterprise Award for Best Brand Communication Management Case.” with live broadcast of 60th anniversary of National Day.
January 2010: After the constant winning of “Hundred of Red Herring Asia” in two years, PPLive won this honor again in California on January 15, Meanwhile, PPLive was the only network television enterprise won this award.
February 2010: PPTV Network TV was awarded the “Annual Award of Outstanding Product Online of Zhongguancun” by ZOL.
